Parents Punk Kid in to thinking he got an XBOX 360

When you were a kid did your parents ever do anything mean to you for their own amusement? Whatever it was, something tells us it wasn't as evil as what Jonathan's (above) family did on Christmas morning, having him unwrap an empty Xbox box with some shirts inside -- while on video, mind you -- and then everyone laughing at him when he got upset and cried over being hoodwinked. For the love of all that is holy in the gadget-loving world, that is so wrong. Despite the fact his family told Jonathan multiple times in the video, "C'mon, you know we can't afford an Xbox!", the kid's shining example of an older brother (who uploaded the video) claims that they actually did get him the console, and that he'd eventually upload the video of the "real" unwrapping. He never did. Right.(Thanks Engadget)

This is HORRIBLE!!! When I was younger (12-ish) I was in LOVE with Jim McMahon (QB for the Bears in '85) and for Christmas one year my parents gave me the book he wrote. On the inside cover was a nice note and his AUTOGRAPH. I absolutely FREAKED out about this. Years later they told me that they actually signed his name to it. It's sorta funny but sorta really cruel too - I'd never do something like that to my daughter. And I totally could get her with, say, Hannah Montana concert tickets and then be all "PSYCH! I'm not paying thousands of dollars for you to watch Miley Cyrus lipsynch" but I just couldn't imagine the devastation, holy hell.

Found you thru Blog Explosion by the way.

Yes i know, when I saw this I thought to myself how cruel could parents be to do that. Not only did they make him think he was getting an XBOX 360, but they laughed at him after he found out there was nothing in the box. I live in Chicago and I am a big Jim McMahon fan. He was the only great quarterback that the Bears have ever had. Like you, I do not understand all of the hype over Hannah Montana lipsynching to barbie songs. Thanks for commenting!!!
